ತುಂಟತನ, ಕೀಟಲೆ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲಂಕಾರಗಳೇ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಸಹಜ ಮುಗ್ಧತೆ, ಸತ್ಯ ಶುದ್ಧತೆ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲವರಿಗೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಣೀಯವೂ, ಕ್ಷಮಾರ್ಹವೂ, ಚುರುಕು ಎಂಬAತೆಯೂ ಕಾಣುವುದುಂಟು. ಈ ಅಲಂಕಾರಗಳು ಆಗಾಗ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದರೂ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಶುದ್ಧತೆಯ ಹೊಳಪು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಬಾಲ್ಯ ಕಳೆದಂತೆಲ್ಲ ಈ ಗುಣಗಳು ಕಳೆದುಹೋಗುವುದು ಸಹಜ. ಹಾಗಲ್ಲದೇ ಬೆಳೆದು ನಿಂತಾಗಲೂ ಉಳಿದೇಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಸಹನೀಯ ಅನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಲಕ್ಷಿ÷್ಮÃನಾರಾಯಣ ಅಂಥವರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಣೀಯ ಅಪವಾದವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಖರತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಮೌಲ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರೂಪಾಂತರಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯಮಾತ್ರದವನಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯನಿಷ್ಠ ಜೀವನೋತ್ಸಾಹದ ಒಂದು ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಕೃತಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಅನಾವರಣ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಈ ಬರಹವನ್ನು Satirical Autobiography ಅಥವಾ Autobiographical Satire ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಬೇಕೆನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾಶಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥ ರಚನೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
