If the tree wealth is the main component of 'Vanasiri' (forest wealth), then 'Mrugasampattu' (animal wealth) is a complementary component of Vanasiri found in the environment provided by the trees. Along with the well-known wildlife of Karnataka, descriptions of other lesser-known animals are also provided.
